First up, Microsoft Lumia 650 is available for pre-order in india through Amazon for Rs.16599. You can pre-order the device from here. But I am damn pretty sure, even the aluminium body of the device and stylish look can’t save the device in India. The reason is pricing.
The device with mediocre specs with 16GB of storage, 1 GB of RAM , Snapdragon 212 Processor , 8 MP rear camera and 5 MP front facing camera worth Rs.16599? ABSOLUTELY NOT ! There are more competitive devices out in the market with greater specifications than Lumia 650.
Although the OS is optimized for smooth run to suit the hardware compared to Android but this is no longer the case. Microsoft should have aggressive push to have something in the market considering the huge market in India.
India is one of the country to have more Windows Phone users than iOS and we hope Microsoft is well aware of the fact. But, Microsoft fails to capitalize the momentum left by Nokia in India especially.
The devices launched by Microsoft after the legacy Nokia was having very low promotions, no new features in OS. We were hoping Microsoft should change the game with Windows 10 Mobile but the recent launch of Lumia 650 with this high price point is highly unacceptable.
It’s high time for Microsoft to reconsider their pricing strategy especially in India.
In this competitive world, for the same pricing users will get 3GB of RAM with Snapdragon 801 Processor. Please MICROSOFT. We want you to aware of these facts and save the Windows Phone sooner than later !
